Even living in a relatively flat state, hills are an inevitable part of running. When I was training with my Fleet Feet Group, we spent a lot of time on hills and I learned better techniques on how to conquer them without killing my legs. Today as I was researching better ways to run hills, I came across a helpful list of tips on www.mamashealth.com (click below for the exact link). One thing that I've learned before but have to constantly remind myself is that when going down hills, you should shorten your stride. Often I lengthen mine and end up pounding my feet (and consequently my knees too) and loosing a bit of control.

My sister-in-law just bought a very gently used treadmill off of Craig's List for $100. If you're into bargain shopping, you might check there!
Oops.. the above comment was supposed to be for the treadmill post!
