Pulling Up

Here I am once again apologizing for not keeping up with the blog. Come on Em get with it. The last few days have been more than a little bit trying. What I thought was a cold turned out to be bronchitis (BOO!!!) and, as you know, when we get sick our kids don't say, "You know Mom I can see that you're having a hard time so I'll just go ahead and take care of myself today." In midst of my 103 degree temp and non-stop coughing our plumbing got backed up. I knew something was off when a toilet was flushed and the contents began filling up the bathtub (EWWWW!!!). I went through our home warranty people to get the problem fixed and their solution was that someone could come out in a few days (that's right there's an 's' on the end of day). Ummm...not acceptable. After a million hours on hold and a few tears, we finally got someone out to fix us up. Did I mention that it was our five year anniversary? To celebrate, we cleaned you know what out of the bathtub and went to bed early. I know, pretty sexy. Luckily, I live by my aunt, uncle and cousins who totally helped us out last week. They brought us dinner, played with my kids, let me use their shower and facilities, etc, etc, etc. What would I do without family? Also, I have a stellar husband who got up in the middle of the night each night with my little one. He had a super stressful week at work but still found a way to get home in time to get the kids down and baby me a little.

My little one has started pulling himself up. It's kinda sad because he'll pull himself up and get super excited then loose his balance and fall. He has a tiny little bruise on his head because of it. Obviously, falling isn't super pleasant but he keeps pulling up and starting the process over. I know he'll finally get it and then we'll have to conquer walking. The determination of little ones inspires me.

If I were in that position I think I might say, "Falling down is not so fun. I'll go ahead and forget this pulling up business." With that being said, I feel like I haven't been able to totally get back on track since we had our second baby and then moved. But, I'm going to go ahead and follow the example of my little guy and start over each time I "fall down." My guess is that many of us have taken a bit of a break from running with this crazy hot weather. How about we resolve to try again. Soon we'll be back on track and have another goal to conquer.

Love the post. What a cute little one and what an example you are to everyone! I'm so sorry to hear of your hard times, but they make me more aware that my problems could be a whole lot worse. We need to savor our good precious moments and try to remember as we fall that we will be able to get back up soon. I hope you are feeling better.
