Compression Socks?

This pregnancy has introduced me to the wonderful world of varicose veins (yuck, I know). People have actually thought I have bruises up and down my entire left shin. I know that the common fix is getting those compression hose (double yuck...especially in the summer). Today I read about compression running socks in Runner's World Magazine and remembered that I had seen them at Fleet Feet and other running stores. I was wondering if any of you had an opinion on these socks.

Have you tried compression running socks? What did you think? Any advice on which ones to buy?

Are you still running Emily? You are crazy. I'm training for a half marathon here in Latvia, do I need these socks for some reason? I only have a month to go, weight to loose and miles to run. How are you?

They do look hot but they are supposed to help with circulation which is supposed to help you be less sore. I wonder if the benefits out weigh the hottness. :)

Don't laugh, but I bought Nike compression socks when I was pregnant, but not to run-- to help with swelling in the last month. I loved them and started wearing them when I was flying too. I've since stopped wearing them regularly, but they work and my legs felt so good!

I have Zensahs and I love them. Not too warm, although I haven't worn them any longer than run/post-run. I've been very pleased, as they eliminate the need for ice baths after very long runs.. which used to be an absolute necessity!!

"I saw a guy running Riverside in them this morning. His were bright red. You could definitely see him coming!"
