Kids Running

This morning my running buddies and I were talking about when it's appropriate for kids to start "seriously" running. Because mine is only a year and a half old, I hadn't really thought about it before. In my research today, I found a great website called, KidsRunning.com. I haven't had a chance to explore the entire thing but it looks like a great source for parents (esp. those who love running like us). It talks about everything from healthy eating to...you guessed it...when it's appropriate to start your kids running. In my opinion the most important thing to remember is that your kids are kids and should be having fun with whatever active thing they're doing. Exercise shouldn't be treated like homework or chores. Also, the number one way to get your kids excited about being active is being excited about it yourself.

"You are the best Emily! I love it! I checked out the website and loved the distance chart showing how long a child should run at what age. "

Thanks for doing my homework for me! It has been such a wonderful experience running with you and getting to pick your brain at the same time.
