Sodium Swap

Lowering your sodium intake is one universally accepted way of lowering your blood pressure (another pretty important one is exercise...big shock). I'm always a little bugged when people suggest food swaps where one is really good and the other tastes like cardboard (i.e. instead of a cookie try a rice cake...really???). You'll be pleased to know that this swap will have your mouth watering. LaAbuella Tortillas have 130mg of sodium as compared to Mission's 440 (Mission's actually range from about 330 to 660 depending on which one you choose). The fat grams and calories are slightly higher in the LaAbuela Brand, but for me, the sodium difference outweighs the benefits of going low fat or low calorie. You can pick up LaAbuela Tortillas at Wal-Mart next to the cheese. The thing that makes these taste so much better is that you cook them at home (don't worry, it only takes a couple of minutes). They're soft, flavorful and don't taste dry like most other store bought tortillas you buy. Seriously, my husband and I will never go back. If you're trying to lower your sodium intake or just want to buy something that tastes amazing, pick these up and let me know what you think.
