I've heard a lot of people say that chocolate milk is the perfect post run drink. Because it's my all-time favorite beverage, I didn't need to find research to back up this information...I just drank chocolate milk guilt free assuming that it helped me post race. To my delight in the January issue of Runner's World, they have an entire article dedicated to the merits of chocolate milk. In short, low fat chocolate milk contains protein, carbs, and key vitamins and minerals that make it a great choice for runners. Click here for another article touting it's benefits. Ahh...the joys of guilt free chocolate.
Now I just need to find a study that justifies my chocolate chip cookie intake.
